1:1 Psychology

Psychological guidance that starts with understanding your individual situation rather than fitting it into a predetermined protocol.
People seek psychological support when symptoms, tension or recurring patterns begin to affect their functioning, wellbeing or daily life. Sometimes the question is clearly defined. In other cases, there is mainly a persistent sense that something is not working well, for example through chronic stress, overthinking, exhaustion, insecurity or recurring difficulties in work, relationships or behaviour.
A careful psychological trajectory begins by systematically mapping the symptoms and the context in which they developed. In the first conversations, I explore the course of the difficulties, relevant life events, vulnerabilities and the factors that may trigger or maintain the symptoms.
This includes thoughts and emotions, but also behaviour, coping strategies, interpersonal patterns, workload, lifestyle, physical factors and the daily environment. This information is brought together into a coherent analysis of the problem. From that understanding, I determine together with you which factors can be influenced and where focused change is possible.
Understand before labelling.
A diagnosis can offer clarity and can be important when specialist healthcare is needed. It is not, however, a prerequisite for psychological guidance at Steadroot.
The purpose of the work is not to avoid difficult psychological questions. It is to understand them properly.
01
Intake and formulation
I begin by clarifying what you are experiencing, when it occurs, what preceded it and how it affects your daily functioning. Together, you and I build a working understanding of the psychological and contextual factors involved.
02
Psychological work
Depending on the question, sessions may focus on patterns in thinking and behaviour, emotional responses, coping strategies, avoidance, perfectionism, self-image, boundaries, stress or interpersonal patterns. The approach is tailored to the individual rather than determined by one standard protocol.
03
Application
Insight alone rarely produces lasting change. I therefore translate what emerges in sessions into concrete experiments, behaviour and choices outside the consultation room.
04
Evaluation
I regularly evaluate with you whether the work is creating meaningful change and adjust when necessary.
Areas people may bring
People may come to Steadroot because they experience persistent stress or overthinking, struggle with perfectionism or boundaries, feel mentally exhausted, experience insecurity, keep repeating the same patterns in relationships or work, or notice that they no longer feel like themselves. Others are functioning relatively well but want to understand themselves more deeply or navigate a period of change with professional psychological support. The exact question does not need to be perfectly formulated before the first conversation.
Steadroot offers psychological guidance for mild to moderate psychological difficulties and personal development. It is not intended to replace acute psychiatric care or specialist treatment when this is required. If a question falls outside the appropriate scope of Steadroot, this will be discussed openly and, where possible, appropriate specialised care will be recommended.
